Continuing with Parkour, year 5 have put together sequences of movements to showcase in front of each other. The routines had to include jumps, balances, travelling, rotation and an element of parkour from our previous lessons. The pictures and videos below show the children working together in teams performing their moves.
Recently we had two teams compete at a Sportshall Athletics competition at UEA Sportspark. Thursday a team of year 5 and 6 pupils took part in an indoor athletics competition where they competed in several track and field events. On Friday a team of year 3 and 4 children also competed in a similar competition….

Last half term, 6JE had a weekly swimming session. It is great news to report that many of the children reached their targets and were rewarded with certificates. Well Done 6JE

Linked to year 5’s enquiry-The Normans- we had a fencing instructor come into school to lead several workshops. He talked about the history of fencing and showed the children various fencing positions and moves. The children then had the chance to experience some fencing as they battled it out with each other.
Children from year 5 and 6 attended the Norwich School Sports Partnership tag rugby event at UEA Sportspark. It was a great day for all the children as they competed against many other schools. Their team play and behaviour was brilliant. Photographs to follow…
